The Crusaders took their first home loss of the season against the Wildcats of Randolph College to bring their home record to 2-1 at home and their overall record to 2-4. The Crusaders often struggled to produce offensively against Randolph’s tenacious defense, but there were times that the young Crusaders team moved the ball quite well, broke down their smothering defense and got quality shots. Randolph’s offense was structured and very disciplined, which created problems to the Crusaders all night. Randolph’s passing was efficient and their on and off ball screening helped to free up their shooters for open rhythm shots. The Crusaders had not yet experience such a disciplined team, and likely will not for the remainder of the season.
The Crusaders’ will continue to work hard, learn, and try and model their play on Randolph’s efficient and pass first offense to break down defenses. The Crusaders were scheduled to have a game against Wilson College on Monday, November 30th, but due to a conflict the game has been postponed. The Crusaders do not play again until after the Thanksgiving break.
