Big Second Half Leads to Win in Season Opener

The first half of the game was very rough for the Crusaders, as shots were just not dropping. They were getting open looks all throughout the half, especially from three, but they only converted on 3 out of 15 attempts from long distance, with two of them coming from Rok Urankar (Sophomore/ Richfield, OH). The Crusaders were only up by 4 heading into the break.
Christendom really figured things out offensively and defensively in the second half, outsourcing the Sentinels by a score of 48-20, powered primarily by a 25-7 run about midway through the half. Shots were falling for the Crusaders, as they knocked down 7 threes over the course of the second half. The Crusaders shot 45% as a team in the second half leading to the win.
Three players finished with double-doubles for the Crusaders: John Paul Vander Woude (Sophomore/ Nokesville, VA) with a team-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, Jack Hofbauer (Senior/ Woodcliff Lake, NJ) with 15 points and 14 rebounds, and Peter Ethridge (Sophomore/ Phoenix, AZ) who had 16 points and 13 rebounds. Joe Dotson (Junior/ Manassas, VA) chipped in with 13 points and 4 assists while shooting 3-5 from long distance, and Dominic Smith (Junior/ Manassas, VA) had 5 assists to go along with 4 steals.
The Crusaders host their first home game of the year on Saturday, November 20 in a rematch against Patrick Henry.
