Joe Dotson enters his second year of coaching at Christendom as Head Coach after serving as Interim Head Coach after his first season. Dotson also serves as Assistant Athletic Director and Sports Information Director at Christendom College.

In his first season as head coach, Joe Dotson led Christendom Men’s Basketball to 9 wins, including the program’s first-ever victory over the No. 1-ranked team in the country. The team also earned multiple wins over USCAA DII ranked opponents and defeated two programs for the first time in Christendom Men’s Basketball history. One player earned both ESAC First Team All-Conference honors and USCAA All-American recognition—the program’s first All-American in 20 years. Following the season, Dotson had the interim tag removed and was officially named head coach.

Dotson, a graduate of Christendom, was a four-year starter for the men’s basketball program from 2019-2023. He also worked in multiple roles in the athletic department during his time at Christendom, working as an Assistant for the SID and as an Athletic Marketing and Communications Assistant.

Prior to Dotson’s hiring, he worked at Walsingham Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia as Assistant Athletic Director. There, he assisted in the daily operations of the athletic department and was directly responsible for all digital operations and communications. Dotson was also a part of the coaching staff for the Trojans Varsity Basketball Team.

Dotson holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Christendom College and is currently enrolled at the University of Cincinnati, working towards a masters degree in Sport Administration.
