Crusaders Win Big Over Tribe
Front Royal, Va. — The Christendom College rugby team turned in a commanding performance on Saturday, shutting out William & Mary 52–0 at home. The Crusaders showcased balanced play on both sides of the ball, with eight different tries and a relentless defensive effort that kept the visitors off the board.
Christendom wasted no time asserting control in the first half. Zach Zuniga opened the scoring with back-to-back tries, giving the Crusaders early momentum. Matt Verrengia and Fionn Bauer each added tries before halftime, sending Christendom into the break with a 24–0 advantage.
The Crusaders continued their dominance after intermission, with Anthony Pegis crossing the line early in the second half. Dan DiFalco and Jimmy Coffey followed with tries of their own, before Mark Patryn capped off the scoring in the closing minutes. By the final whistle, Christendom had stretched the lead to 52–0, completing the shutout in front of the home crowd.
Up Next: With the victory, Christendom improves to 2-3 on the season. The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, when they face UVA.
