Crusaders Win Big on Senior Day
Front Royal, Va. – Christendom Rugby capped off Senior Day in emphatic fashion on Saturday, rolling past Virginia Commonwealth University 55–0 in a dominant all-around performance.
The Crusaders set the tone early, with Jimmy Coffey opening the scoring to give Christendom a quick 5–0 lead. Anthony Pegis and Ben O'Brien each added tries to extend the advantage to 17–0, and Coffey's second try of the day made it 26–0. Another score moments later pushed the lead to 31–0 before Connall McMahon powered through for a try to close the half with Christendom up 36–0.
The second half brought more of the same from the Crusaders, as Nate Sheedy struck for back-to-back tries to make it 48–0. O'Brien capped the scoring with his second try of the match, sealing the 55–0 shutout victory.
Christendom's defense was airtight from start to finish, stifling VCU's attack and maintaining a clean sheet in front of an energized home crowd. The win marked a fitting Senior Day celebration and another statement performance for the Crusaders' 2025 campaign.
