Crusader Men’s Soccer Season Recap
Christendom Crusader Men’s Soccer had a well-fought season this year finishing with a 0.382 record at 6-10-1.
Christendom Crusader Men's Soccer had a well-fought season this year finishing with a 0.382 record at 6-10-1. The Crusaders started the season out slow but were able to pick up momentum as the season continued. Their season featured many hard-fought games as well as impressive victories. Soon after a win against Patrick Henry, the Crusaders gained a striking victory 6-1 against The Crown College. The team continued to have a strong season in the following games. Towards the end of the season, they gained another victory 2-1 against Penn State Mont Alto. The team closed out their season with a tough game against Washington Adventist in which the Crusaders played a very impressive game highlighting their progress since the beginning of the season. Crusader's Senior Joe Madigan (Senior/Lawrence, NJ) led the team with 9 goals and with points, finishing the season with 19. Freshmen Ryan Welch (Freshman/Atlanta, GA) and Bobby Vander Woude (Freshman/Nokesville, VA) came second in the season with a total of 5 goals each. Vander Woude also led the team with 5 assists. Welch led in shots with a total of 64, putting him in third place for shots in the USCAA stats. Christendom's keeper Mark Taylor (Sophomore/Springfield, VA) also had a great season with 98 saves total. Overall, the Men's Soccer team had an incredible season improving each game.
