FRONT ROYAL, Va. — The Christendom College men's soccer team earned a 2–1 home win over Manor College on Saturday afternoon, extending their unbeaten streak to three matches.
Manor struck first in the 41st minute to take a 1–0 lead, but the Crusaders responded just before halftime. Freshman Luke Vander Woude was brought down in the box, earning a penalty that senior captain Niall Maguire calmly converted in the 45th minute to even the score.
In the second half, Christendom continued to press forward, and senior Ryan Welch put the Crusaders ahead in the 68th minute, finishing a pass from junior Tim Sheedy. The Crusader defense held strong the rest of the way, limiting Manor to just five shots on goal to secure the 2–1 victory.
Up Next: With the win, Christendom improves to 5–6–3 on the season. The Crusaders will look to carry their momentum into Friday's matchup against Williamson College of the Trades on October 24.
