Front Royal, VA – Christendom Crusader Women's Basketball dominated at home in a resounding 96-44 win over the Bucks County Community College Centurions on Saturday, November 16th.
Going into their first home game, the Crusaders were looking to build on last season's success. With the 2023-2024 season being the greatest in program history, culminating in a huge USCAA National Championship win, the Crusaders have their work cut out for them this season. Despite missing five players, who were competing in the USCAA Soccer National Championship, the Crusaders came out strong and jumped to a big 25-11 in the first quarter. With a cohesive team effort, the Crusaders increased their lead to 57-20 by halftime.
The Crusaders kept their momentum throughout the third quarter, bringing their lead to 79-26. At the final, the Crusaders led 96-44. Each player stepped up and put points on the board. Mary Pennefather (Sophomore/Manassas, VA) was the leading scorer with an impressive 32 points. The Crusaders' effort on defense allowed them to force 26 turnovers, which played a huge role in building their lead.
