New Kensington, Pa.- Christendom College earned its first victory of the 2025 season in emphatic fashion on Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 5-0 road win over Penn State New Kensington. The Crusaders wasted no time asserting control, scoring all five of their goals in a dominant first half before shutting the door defensively the rest of the way.
The scoring started almost immediately, as senior forward Megan Lovar struck in the 2nd minute to give Christendom a 1-0 lead. Just nine minutes later, sophomore Claire Santschi doubled the advantage in the 11th minute, finishing off a well-placed setup. Freshman Gloria Ackla then added her first collegiate goal in the 16th minute, putting the Crusaders firmly in control at 3-0.
Sophomore forward Ava Hudson closed the half with a flourish, netting back-to-back goals in the 40th minute to push the margin to 5-0 at halftime.
Forward Maddie Lee orchestrated the attack with precision, recording three assists and consistently driving play through the midfield, while May Weichert provided a key assist on the second goal. Though the second half was quieter on the scoresheet, Christendom continued to dominate possession and limit New Kensington's chances, with the back line and goalkeeping unit preserving the clean sheet.
With the win, the Crusaders improve to 1-1 on the year and will look to carry momentum into their upcoming match.
