Volleyball Reveals 2025 Schedule
Front Royal, VA — The Christendom College Women's Volleyball team has officially released its 2025 fall schedule, unveiling a loaded slate of matches that includes multiple tournaments, regional showdowns, and several key tri-matches. Coming off a competitive 2024 season, the Crusaders return with a young but talented core, and head into year two under Head Coach Michaela Pennefather ready to take the next step as a program.
The Crusaders will open their season on the road at the USCAA Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Penn State Beaver (Aug. 29-30). There, they'll take on PSU Beaver, PSU New Kensington, and PSU Greater Allegheny, three early matchups that should test the team's offseason growth.
The following weekend (Sept. 5-6), Christendom heads to Virginia Beach for the Regent Tournament, with matches against D3 Opponents Regent, Warren Wilson, and Mary Baldwin. A stretch of 14 matches across September will see the Crusaders travel throughout the region and host multiple home matches—including a Home Tri-Match vs. MACU and Appalachian Bible on September 27.
The regular season concludes with key late-October matchups, including a tri-match at Appalachian Bible (Oct. 25)and a home finale vs. Patrick Henry on October 27, setting the stage for postseason play in November.
Team Outlook
Leading the group is Lucy Stahl, a rising sophomore who earned Honorable Mention USCAA All-American honors as an outside hitter. Also returning are setter Elizabeth Reese and defensive specialist Aimee Simpson, both rising sophomores who saw significant time as freshmen. Reese's court vision and Simpson's defensive consistency provide a strong foundation for a team looking to improve its ball control and tempo.
Together, this trio offers the Crusaders a competitive core that now has both skill and experience, something that was still developing during last season.
The 2025 recruiting class brings athleticism, energy, and positional versatility—traits that Coach Pennefather believes will help raise the team's overall ceiling.
With a full offseason of development, a rising sophomore core, and a growing identity under Coach Pennefather, 2025 could mark the beginning of a new chapter for Christendom Volleyball—one built on toughness, growth, and long-term potential.
