Baltimore, Md.- The Christendom women's volleyball team dropped a 3–0 decision on the road to Notre Dame of Maryland earlier this week. Despite the loss, the Crusaders had several bright spots on offense. Lucy Stahl led the way with 9 kills, while Serenity Fedoryka and Lucy Pennefather added 6 and 5, respectively. Defensively, Kate Reese anchored the back row with a team-high 10 digs. With the setback, Christendom moved to 2–8 on the season.
Washington, D.C.-Christendom bounced back in impressive fashion just two days later, sweeping Trinity Washington 3–0 behind one of their most consistent performances of the year. The Crusaders controlled the match from start to finish, taking the sets 25–14, 25–8, and 25–16. Stahl once again powered the offense with 12 kills, while Pennefather and Maggie Sullivan each added 6. Aimie Simpson turned in a strong defensive effort, tallying 16 digs to keep Trinity off balance throughout the contest. The victory marked Christendom's second sweep of the season and improved their record to 3–8.
Up Next: The Crusaders will look to carry their momentum into Saturday, September 20, when they travel to face Penn State Hazleton and Penn State Mont Alto in a tri-match.
